Paul serves at Hope for Families Adoption and Counseling Services, Inc. Paul has a BA degree in English from Eastern Nazarene College, Quincy, MA. Paul also serves as Executive Director of Hope For Families Charity, a 501c3 (pending) non profit charity that will serve those that require financial assistance in family services, orphanage development, as well as Haitian relief and clean water projects. Paul holds series 66 and series 7 FINRA licenses and holds his 215 insurance licenses. Paul comes from a strong and diverse business marketing and management / financial background and works with Hope for Families Adoption and Counseling Services to build a strong financial and business foundation for future growth.
He oversees the media services of Hope For Families and coordinates our business as webmaster as well as marketing design. He serves as Worship Ministries Director at Sunlight Community Church in Port St Lucie, FL.
Andy Hamilton

Counselor
is a Provisional Mental Health Counselor Licensee in the State of Florida (# PMH 900). Andy is also a National Certified Counselor with the National Board of Certified Counselors, Inc., a trained Prepare-Enrich counselor for pre-marital or marital counseling, and had School Counseling certification in the state of Tennessee. He has a Master of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling from Lee University with emphasis in Christian perspectives. Andy received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a minor in Religion and an emphasis in Outdoor Recreation.
Andy has experience in working with clients of various ages struggling with addiction, anxiety, depression, employment difficulties, relationships, and co-occurring disorders. He has experience in working with children and adolescents in various settings, such as, inpatient psychiatric treatment, therapeutic foster care, and as a Youth Leader. He currently serves as an assistant Youth Pastor to his wife at a church in the area. Andy serves as the Interstate Adoption Program Director and a Clinical/Christian Counselor. He graduated with his bachelor’s and master’s degree with honors from Lee University in Tennessee. Andy was a member of Psi Chi, The National Honor Society in Psychology, and was also a member of Chi Sigma Iota, Counseling Academic, Professional Honor Society International, ASCA, (American School Counselor Association) and the AACC, (American Association of Christian Counselors), chapter at Lee University.

Patricia N.E. Roberson

Counselor
received her M.S. in Child Development and Family Studies with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy from Purdue University in December 2008. She received her Bachelors in Child and Family Studies at the University of Georgia. Most recently she has worked at the Center for Student Achievement at Purdue University Calumet as a graduate assistant conducting research on Experiential Learning. Dr. David Thompson

Counselor
Dr. David Thompson began his career with an undergraduate degree in Sociology from St. Thomas University in 1971. He then received a full paid scholarship to attend Barry University, in Miami Shores, Florida. In 1973 he received his Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work. He began working in 1972 at Concept House, a drug residential treatment center in Miami. He had responsibilities for doing family therapy, individual and group counseling. Upon receiving his Master’s Degree he assumed responsibilities as Program Director for the 60 bed unit. In 1974 he accepted a position as the Director of an outpatient drug program in Killeen, Texas. There he and his staff provided counseling to many combat veterans returning home from Viet Nam that were stationed at Ft. Hood.
In 1978 he returned to Florida and accepted a position as a consultant with a community mental health center, Indian River Mental Health. In 1982 he began working with Indian River Community College as an Assistant Professor, teaching at the Regional Police Academy and piloting an experimental Pre- Release Program for youthful offenders at Indian River Correctional Institution. During this time he also received his Florida license as a Clinical Social Worker and opened a private practice, The Family Counseling Center.
In 1984 he made a career move to ministry and attended the Institute of Ministry in Bradenton, Florida. In 1985 he was licensed and ordained thru a local church in Ft. Pierce, Covenant Tabernacle, where he served as an Associate Pastor, doing pastoral counseling and family life education. In 1986 he accepted the appointment as Staff Chaplain with Lawnwood Medical Center, a 320 med/surge hospital and the Pavilion, a sixty bed psychiatric hospital. While at the hospital he attended a nationally certified, 240 hour clinical pastoral education program at Martin Memorial Hospital. In 1987 he enrolled with North Florida Baptist Theological Seminary and received his Master’s Degree in 1989 and Doctorate of Ministry Degree in 1990. In 1988 he became the Director of Counseling for Calvary Assembly of God Church in Port St. Lucie, Florida.
Dr. Thompson opened a recovery based church in 1992, Renewed Hope Fellowship. During his five year tenure there, the church set up a Christian coffee house, developed support programs for depression, divorce recovery, substance abuse, and women’s issues. In 1997 his full time appointment with the hospital went to part time and he accepted a position with New Life Christian Center, in Port St. Lucie, as the Director of Counseling, Singles Ministry, and hospital and prison outreach. He also began volunteering with the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office in 1996, as an auxiliary chaplain. In 1995 till present he also began serving as a Spiritual Director for Kairos International Prison Ministries.
In 2001 he became the Lead Counselor for a Juvenile Justice Program along the treasure coast serving adolescents and their families. He and his staff were conducting a highly innovative program, multi-systems therapy, in conjunction with the University of South Carolina’s Medical School. In 2004 he accepted a position with New Horizon’s Mental Health as a clinical social worker and later was promoted to a clinical director for one of the specialized community outreach programs.
Dr. Thompson in 2005 received the appointment as the full time Staff Chaplain with the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office. In this position he has responsibilities for the pastoral care needs of the 1500+ inmates at the jail, as well as the 700 member department.
Currently in addition to his responsibilities as Chaplain, he is the Clinical Director for the St. Lucie County Critical Incident Debriefing Team. He is also the Pastoral Coordinator for the St. Lucie County Ministerial Program. He also serves on the Board of Strategic Cultural Initiatives, a leadership development and character enhancement program serving correctional institutions and businesses in South Florida.
Cheryl Wood, MFT

Cheryl Wood has lived on the Treasure Coast for over twenty years where she raised four children. She graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, and a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Liberty University in Virginia. She is a MFT Registered Intern with the State of Florida.
Cheryl has experience working with clients of all ages who struggle with anxiety, depression, marital discord, and women’s issues, or are in need of conflict resolution. She has been a counselor with the Women’s Refuge in Vero Beach. Cheryl also facilitates anger management and codependency support groups.
Cheryl continues to be involved with a local area church where she served on the pastoral search committee.
